I am so excited to share this interview with you all because I had such a blast meeting and getting to know the incredibly talented singer/songwriter Stephen Voyce! 🎤
Stephen has an amazing energy to him and we hit it off right from the start - and not just because he loves Batman and Halo!! 😄
In episode 196 we got it all in and discussed:
•Early Inspirations and Influences: Stephen was born in Nigeria but grew up in Montreal and has always been surrounded by music. His mom always had Michael Jackson playing and Stephen quickly realized that music was going to be an integral part of his life. After his mother's passing, Stephen turned to music as an outlet and fully pursued a career in music. Since then, he's released a plethora of originals, collaborations, features and albums - every year, growing as a singer, songwriter and producer. Love it! ❤️🔥
•Discography: Not only is Stephen wildly talented but he's also a very hard worker - he's released well over 100 songs and 4 full-length albums! We had so much fun taking a trip down memory lane and discussing some of his recent work like "Summer Lust", "Love In Montreal City" and "Not Your Type" with Jess Abran. We went deep on the inspirations for his music and his creative process for composing Stephen Voyce tracks. 🎸
•Keeping It Fun: Throughout the interview, Stephen shared his experiences in creative industries like music, film, gaming and social media. One thing he always keeps in mind is to keep it fun and make sure that he's enjoying the process. Although these are creative industries, there will always be business and money-oriented people trying to influence an artist's process and product. Stephen has learned the hard way that it needs to always be the artist's decision on the direction and product. Really loved his perspective! 👏🏻
I had SO much fun in this interview - Stephen and I had a lot in common, music and non-music related which always makes for a great conversation. I LOVE his music and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him. 💫
