This is episode 154 and I have a VERY Special episode for you You guys already know how much I enjoy interviewing people who are behind the scenes because whether it's a brand, business, restaurant, venue - whatever - they are truly instrumental in playing a part in making everything come together. Today's interview features one of the most successful and influential tastemakers in Chicago hospitality - Carmen Rossi! Carmen's name is extremely well known in Chicago for a multitude of reasons including hospitality, event curation, culinary practices, and he's even a key player in various Chicago city boards like the IL restaurant association, landmark association AND he's a lawyer. Needless to say we had a lot to chat about in 154 - in this interview we discussed: -Carmen's early days and integration with Chicago: a Frankfort, IL native and U of I graduate, Carmen has always had aspirations to build something that would make a positive impact on the city of Chicago on many levels. -The past, present, and future of 8 Hospitality: As the founder and CEO, Carmen has worked extremely hard to build this incredible hospitality brand that employs over 700 people at venues and restaurants like Joy District, Hubbard Inn, The Dime, and so much more. -What makes Chicago, "Chicago" - Carmen and I discussed why Chicago is such an incredible place to not only live but also build any sort of brand or business. We talked about Chicago cultural foundations like food, neighborhoods, sports, music and more. THIS was a special conversation I truly enjoyed this interview and have the utmost respect for everything that Carmen has built but also because of his daily efforts to continue growing. We've all heard the saying "Don't sweat the small stuff"... this is exactly what makes Carmen different - he DOES sweat the small stuff. His attention to detail on every level is why he's made it to where he's at today. From one Chicagoan to another - THANK YOU for coming on and sharing your story Carmen!
